Desktop App Guide
A complete guide to using the Laxis Desktop App for system-level audio capture and meeting management.
1. Interactive Tutorial
When you first enter the application, Laxis provides an Interactive Tutorial.
- Follow the purple bubble prompts on the screen to experience the complete workflow, from "Start Recording" to "Generate Summary" and finally "Share".
- If this is your first time using the app, it is highly recommended to complete this tutorial to understand the core flow.
2. Dashboard Overview
The Dashboard is your central hub for managing all your meetings.
- Search Bar: Type keywords in the top search box to quickly find past meeting records.
- New Recording: Click the blue Microphone button to start recording immediately. Click the small arrow on the right to access more options:
- Invite Laxis Bot: Invite the AI bot to automatically join Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams calls.
- Upload audio file: Upload local audio files for transcription.
- Coming Up: Displays scheduled meetings synced from your calendar.
- Past Meetings: Lists all completed meetings in chronological order.
3. Recording a Meeting
Once you click "New Recording" from the dashboard, you will enter the recording interface.
- Real-time Transcript: Click the Transcript button at the bottom to expand the panel and view speech-to-text in real-time.
- Language Selection: At the top of the transcript panel, select the meeting language (e.g., English, Chinese, Japanese) to ensure transcription accuracy.
- Take Notes: The center of the screen is a note-taking area where you can jot down key points while recording.
- AI Assistant: Even during recording, you can click the AI icon to ask questions like "What was the budget discussed just now?".
- Pause/Stop: Use the control bar at the bottom to pause or end the recording.
4. Meeting Details & AI Analysis
After a recording ends or when you click on a past meeting, you will see the Detail View with four core tabs:
Summary
Laxis automatically generates structured meeting minutes:
- Overview: A general summary of the meeting.
- Action Items: A checklist of tasks assigned during the meeting.
- Topics: Key topics discussed with corresponding timestamps.
- Markdown Support: You can directly edit the summary content.
AI Writer
Use AI to automatically generate follow-up documents based on the meeting context.
Select Template
Click the dropdown menu at the top left to select a template (e.g., Follow-up Email, LinkedIn Post).
Generate Content
Click the Generate button and wait for the AI to draft the content.
Copy or Download
Review the generated content, then copy or download as needed.
Note
This section saves the notes you took during the recording. You can also add new private notes here while reviewing.
5. AI Chat Assistant
Whether on the Dashboard or in the Meeting Detail view, Laxis is equipped with a powerful AI Chat Assistant.
- Global Questions: On the Dashboard, ask "What did I discuss with the product team last week?"
- Contextual Questions: In the Meeting Detail view, ask "When is the deadline mentioned in this meeting?"
- Quick Prompts: Use the suggestion chips above the input box to get information instantly.
6. Sharing & Collaboration
You can easily share meeting insights with your team members.
Click Share
Click the Share button at the top right of the Meeting Detail page.
Set Permissions
In the pop-up window, enter email addresses or set permissions to "Anyone with the link".
Copy Link
Click Copy link to copy the URL and send it to your colleagues.
