Build a Prospect List
Organize Your Prospects for Maximum Campaign Success
After finding and unlocking the right prospects using Company Insights filters, the next step is organizing them into targeted lists. Prospect lists help you segment contacts by campaign, territory, industry, or any other criteria that matters to your sales strategy.
Start with Search
To find and unlock prospects, visit Company Insights where you can use advanced filters to discover your ideal customers.
π What is a Prospect List?
A prospect list is a collection of unlocked contacts organized for a specific purpose. Think of lists as folders that help you:
- Segment by campaign: Separate prospects for different outreach campaigns
- Organize by territory: Assign lists to specific sales reps or regions
- Group by characteristics: Create lists based on industry, company size, or technology use
- Track progress: Monitor which prospects have been contacted and their response status
- Enable automation: Use lists with AI SDR Outreach Agent for automated campaigns
Creating and Managing Lists
Adding Prospects to Lists
Once you've unlocked prospects from your search results, save them to a list:
Select Your Prospects
In your search results, select the prospects you want to save using the checkboxes. You can select individually or use bulk selection options.
Click Add to List
Click the "Add to List" button at the top of your results table.
Choose or Create List
In the dialog that appears:
- Select an existing list from the dropdown, or
- Click "Create New List" and enter a name for your new list
Confirm
Click "Add" to save the selected prospects to your chosen list.
Flexible Organization
The same prospect can be added to multiple lists. This is useful when a contact fits multiple campaign criteria or sales territories.

- Add them to your existing list
Remove Prospects:

- Select prospects to remove (checkbox selection)
- Click "Remove from List" to delete them from this list only
- Note: Removing from a list doesn't delete the unlockβprospect remains in your account
Move Between Lists:
- Select prospects in one list
- Click "Add to List" and choose a different list
- Optionally remove from the current list afterward
Non-Destructive Removal
Removing a prospect from a list doesn't delete their contact information or consume additional credits. You can always add them back or use them in other lists.
List Naming Best Practices
Clear, consistent list names make management easier as your database grows:
Recommended Naming Conventions
By Campaign:
- "Q1 2026 - New Product Launch"
- "2026 Trade Show Follow-Up"
- "Holiday Campaign - Enterprise"
By Territory:
- "West Coast - Tech Companies"
- "EMEA - Series B SaaS"
- "APAC - Manufacturing"
By Segment:
- "Enterprise (500+ EE) - Salesforce Users"
- "Mid-Market - Recent Funding"
- "SMB - Marketing Tools"
By Status:
- "Active Conversations - March"
- "Replied - Needs Follow-Up"
- "Meeting Scheduled"
Naming Tips
Include Date or Quarter
Adding date context helps you understand list freshness and organize chronologically. Example: "Q1 2026 - Enterprise SaaS"
Be Descriptive but Concise
Balance detail with brevity. "Series B SaaS - AWS Users - West" is better than "Companies that raised Series B funding using AWS primarily on West Coast"
Use Consistent Format
Establish a naming convention and stick to it. Example format: "[Quarter/Date] - [Segment] - [Region/Attribute]"
Exporting Lists
Export your prospect lists to use in external tools, CRM systems, or for offline analysis.
How to Export

Navigate to the list you want to export and open it.
Click Export
Click the "Export" button (typically in the top-right corner).

Credit Management Best Practices
When unlocking prospects to add to your lists, use these strategies to maximize your credit efficiency:
Preview Before Unlocking
Use search filters to evaluate result quality before unlocking. Check company names, titles, and locations in the preview to ensure good fit before spending credits.
Unlock in Batches
Test unlock a small batch (25-50 contacts) first. Validate data quality and fit before unlocking larger volumes. This helps you refine your targeting criteria.
Reuse Unlocked Contacts
Already unlocked contacts are free to reuse. Save them to multiple lists for different campaigns without additional cost. Once unlocked, a contact remains in your account forever.
Strategic Unlocking
Unlock strategically based on your campaign priorities. Focus on high-value prospects first, then expand to additional segments as you validate results.
List Management Best Practices
Segmentation Strategy
Create Focused Lists
Smaller, highly-targeted lists typically outperform large generic ones. A list of 200 well-matched prospects generates better results than 2,000 loosely qualified contacts.
Segment by Message Fit
Create separate lists based on the messaging they'll receive. Enterprise prospects need different messaging than SMBs, even if both are in your ICP.
Territory Assignment
If you have multiple sales reps, create lists by territory or rep assignment for clear ownership and accountability.
List Maintenance
Regular Review
Review and clean your lists quarterly. Remove prospects who have changed companies, unsubscribed, or are no longer relevant.
Track Campaign Association
Note which campaigns have been run against each list. Avoid sending the same prospects multiple identical campaigns.
Update Based on Response
Create follow-up lists from campaign responses. Separate engaged prospects for different nurture tracks.
List Organization
Use a List Hierarchy
Organize lists hierarchically. For example:
- Master List: "Enterprise SaaS 2026"
- Sub-list: "Replied - Interested"
- Sub-list: "No Response - Round 2"
- Sub-list: "Meeting Scheduled"
Archive Old Lists
Keep your dashboard clean by archiving (or clearly labeling) completed campaign lists. This makes active lists easier to find.
