Highlights & Meeting Images
Mark the moments that matter, and keep slides, shared screens, and whiteboards right next to what was said.
New — rolling out now
One-click highlights and meeting images are arriving in the latest updates of the Laxis apps. If you don't see the Highlight button yet, update your app. Earlier versions let you mark text with three colored flags; those highlights keep their colors.
Highlights
A highlight marks a whole paragraph of the transcript in gold. It's available on every plan.
Highlight the current paragraph with one click:
- Desktop: open the Transcript panel and click Highlight at the bottom.
- iPhone and Android: pull up the Transcript drawer and tap Highlight.
- Chrome extension: click Highlight below the transcript.
Which paragraph gets marked:
- While recording: the paragraph being spoken right now.
- While playing back: the paragraph at the current playback position.
- Otherwise: the first paragraph on screen.
Highlight or remove any paragraph: click the bookmark icon at the right of the paragraph. Click it again to remove the highlight. Every action shows Undo for a moment.
Find your highlights later: click the filter (funnel) icon in the transcript and choose Highlights. Highlights also appear in the web app and in exports.
Saved as you go
The status line under the transcript shows Saved to this meeting once your highlights are synced. If you're offline, it shows Saved on this device · Sync pending and syncs later.
Meeting images
Save an image into the transcript at the exact moment it matters. The image appears as a row in the transcript, with the speaker and time.
| App | How to add an image |
|---|---|
| Desktop | Click Screenshot in the transcript panel, choose a window or screen, then click Capture. On a Mac, this uses the same Screen & System Audio Recording permission as recording. |
| Chrome extension | Click Screenshot. If someone is sharing their screen in Google Meet or Teams, Laxis captures it instantly; otherwise Chrome asks you to choose a tab, window, or screen. |
| iPhone | Tap Take photo in the Transcript drawer to open the camera — great for slides and whiteboards. Allow camera access the first time. |
| Android | Tap Take photo in the Transcript drawer to open your camera app. |
Images are saved immediately. Use Undo right after, or click ⋯ on the image to View full size or Remove image. To see only images, choose Images in the transcript filter. You can view and remove images in the web app, but not add new ones there.
How many images can I add?
| Plan | Images per meeting |
|---|---|
| Basic | Not included |
| Premium | 10 |
| Business and Enterprise | 20 |
The limit follows the plan of the person who owns the meeting. When a meeting is full, you'll see "This meeting has 10 of 10 images, the most its plan allows. Remove one to add another." If you downgrade, images you already added stay in your meetings.
